This site is operated by the team behind the Dr. Insanity YouTube channel (“Dr. Insanity”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use this website and how we handle it. It covers this website only, not YouTube or other third-party platforms, which have their own policies.
- Case submissions. When you submit a tip or payout lead, we collect what you enter: the case details, the victim or case name, location, agency and officers, your summary and sources, any files you attach, and the contact details you choose to provide (name, email, personal connection). Providing contact details is optional for tips and required for payouts.
- Basic usage analytics. We record limited, privacy-preserving analytics about page visits (the page viewed, the referring page, a coarse device type, and a one-way hashed visitor identifier). We do not use this to identify you personally and we do not sell it.
- Donations. If you make a donation, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive a confirmation and the amount; we do not receive or store your full card details.
- To review, verify, research, and potentially produce content based on submissions.
- To contact you about your submission if you asked us to or if it is a payout lead.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site (such as our payment and hosting providers) and where required by law.
Cases and corrections we publish are public by nature. Do not submit anything you are not willing to have reviewed by our team, and do not include information you are legally barred from sharing. We may reference submitted facts in published videos, but we do not publish your personal contact details.
We keep submissions for as long as needed to review and act on them and to keep an accurate record. We protect the site with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls on our admin tools, and other reasonable safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you submitted, and you can ask us not to contact you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To make a request, email us at [email protected].
This site is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 to submit a case.
