Submission Terms
Effective October 7, 2026
These terms apply when you submit a case tip or payout lead through this website operated by the team behind the Dr. Insanity YouTube channel (“Dr. Insanity”, “we”, “us”). By submitting, you agree to them.
You must be at least 18 years old to submit. If you submit on behalf of someone else or an organization, you confirm you are authorized to do so.
You represent and warrant that:
- the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- you obtained it lawfully and have the right to share it with us;
- your submission does not knowingly include false, defamatory, or unlawful statements;
- any files you upload do not infringe anyone’s rights and contain no malware; and
- you are not violating a court order, confidentiality obligation, or law by sharing it.
You keep ownership of anything you own in what you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable license to use, reproduce, adapt, and incorporate the submitted information and materials in our research, productions, and related promotion, across any media. This license does not require us to credit you and does not expire when your submission is reviewed.
Submitting a case does not give you ownership of the case, the idea, or any resulting video, and does not create any partnership, employment, agency, or confidential relationship between us. We may already know about, be researching, or have already produced material on the case you submit, and we may receive similar submissions from other people. We are free to pursue any case, including one you submitted, without obligation to you.
- A payout of US$500 may be offered only when, in our sole judgment, your submission materially helped us produce a video and the final case is produced by us.
- We decide in our sole discretion whether a submission qualifies, and our decision is final.
- Submitting does not guarantee that a video will be made or that a payout will be owed.
- If multiple people submit the same case, we may decide who, if anyone, receives a payout.
- Payouts are made to the person who submitted, using the contact details provided. Before we pay, we may require you to verify your identity and provide tax information (such as a W-9 or W-8). We may report payouts to tax authorities and issue a Form 1099 or equivalent where required. You are responsible for any taxes on a payout.
We may review, verify, edit, decline, or remove any submission for any reason. We are not obligated to use, respond to, or return any submission, and we independently verify information before relying on it.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your submission or your breach of these terms, including any claim that your submission was inaccurate, unlawfully obtained, or infringed someone’s rights.
The website is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or your submission.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these terms from time to time; the effective date above shows the latest version. Questions? Email [email protected]. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
